Lots of visitors

We’ve been enjoying showing off our part of the world by having visitors two weekends in a row. OK, two lots of visitors isn’t technically ‘lots’ but it’s pretty good going for us. Firstly we had Em and Stu down from Thame. Met up for lunch Saturday and had some lovely weather so went for a bit of a walk - Carn Gluze, down to Cape Cornwall, up the Cape (eek) and then back up the hill (another eek) into St. Just. Unfortunately Michael got a touch of hayfever which turned into a rotten cold, so he couldn’t partake of the beer Saturday night (but that’s ok because I had some for him).

Then last weekend we had a visit from Cathy and Shaun. After Cathy’s completely failed attempt at getting to Cornwall a few weeks ago (tip: don’t ever try flying to Cornwall the planes can’t land because of the fog) we were relieved that she actually made it and didn’t accidentally end up in Bristol instead. We managed some sun Friday night when we met up for beer, more beer and Chinese takeaway. Saturday it peed down. Absolutely torrential. But being obliging hosts we still took them down Kenidjack Valley to see the donkeys (luckily they were there!) and got absolutely drenched in the process. Yes, very hardcore walking in the rain. I need some waterproof trousers and wellies like the man we saw walking his dog - a raincoat just isn’t enough, especially when the rain is horizontal.

Cheers for the marblecake Cathy! Was going to put a photo of it on here but stupidly managed to delete it before saving to the computer.

Sorry we dragged you out in the horizontal rain but thanks for the donkeys! Did you delete the pic of the marblecake before saving it, or eat it before saving it?

Yum yum yum. I have to admit that there’s not much cake left, but I really did take some photos. This is how stupid I am - I attached the camera to the laptop, copied the photos, deleted the photos and then tried to paste them. Doh!
