New Year’s Eve tomorrow!

I can’t believe how quickly the break is going. I managed to come down with ‘the’ cold for Christmas - woke up with it Christmas Eve which was pretty wrotten. Still, a couple of days of laziness at my parents’ did the trick. We drove over in the afternoon of Christmas Eve and spent the rest of that day with just my parents. Christmas Day my brother and his family came over for the big Chrimbo celebrations. Lots of excitement from my nephews at their new toys! My mum cooked me and Mik a lovely nut roast kind of thing (actually not sure if nut roast is the right way to describe it, but it was delicious) - just the job with our roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots and brocolli. No brussel sprouts this year - wonder if that was for Mik’s benefit.

We drove back after lunch on Boxing Day and have been working/watching dvds/playing computer games ever since. I’ve managed to get a reasonable amount of work done and Mik has done wonders with Photoshop. I’ve also been trying out some new recipes which is fun (just don’t mention gnocchi … ever!).

On Wednesday we had a ‘committee meeting’ to discuss the business and our increasingly imminent move. It took about two hours! It was good to sit down and discuss things properly. We now have a clearer idea of where we’re headed with the business and what we need to get sorted over the next 2/3 months. Typical that my list of action points is about 3 times as long as Mik’s (yes, Mik I’m still sulking over that). Definitely got a busy time ahead of us. It’s very exciting to be approaching a new year with lots of new adventures ahead of us!
